Yesterday one private forecaster had Tuesday at 20–23°C · 68–73°F in the capital — a veranillo, a little summer — while the Brazilian services still had cold air sitting over the region. Inumet has since published a Tuesday panel giving Montevideo a high of 14°C · 57°F, and two of the private forecasters have come down to 16°C · 61°F.

Three independent readings now converge on the same shape: a modest, humid lift Tuesday into Wednesday, then a front on Thursday cutting it short. Plan Tuesday for a sixteen-degree afternoon, not a twenty-three-degree one.

Inumet is the national service and it is the reference for official warnings, which is why every alert on this site is sourced to it. But it is not always the fastest to see weather arriving from the north, and Uruguay’s worst days usually arrive from Brazil.

On 1Aug. 9 this year MetSul was five days ahead of Inumet on the flooding that followed. That is not a criticism of a meteorologist; it is a structural fact about where the models are run and which country’s territory a service is watching. So we read six services every morning — Inumet, MetSul, INMET Brazil, Meteored Argentina, Climatempo and the Argentine service through the World Meteorological Organization feed — and publish one consolidated forecast.

What we do not do is give you a tour of who said what. You get the single most solid reading, in Celsius and Fahrenheit, and a note only where the disagreement is real and matters to your week.

Every temperature, wind speed and rainfall figure on this site is given in metric and imperial together. You should not have to do arithmetic to find out whether to take a coat.

Inumet publishes no sensación térmica value. The feels-like figures here are computed by the standard wind-chill formula from the published temperature and wind. They are ours, not a forecast, and we label them wherever they appear.
